SWUGN Lifetime Achievement Awards

Recipients of the 2006 SWUGN Lifetime Achievement Award were Gene DiMonte of the Chicago SolidWorks User Group, and Lila Theis of the San Antonio SolidWorks User Group.  Both former user group leaders were honored for their commitment and dedication to SolidWorks User Groups and the SolidWorks Community. 1st Annual SWUGN Awards presented at SolidWorks World

The SolidWorks User Group Network handed out several awards at the SWUGN Summit at SolidWorks World in January.  The Colorado SolidWorks User Group was named SWUGN User Group of the Year, and Rob Rodriguez was presented the SWUGN Group Leader of the Year.  Other awards presented were Reseller of the Year to MCAD Technologies, and Participating Partner of the Year to 3Dconnexion.  Congratulations to all! SolidWorks Community Blog makes its debut

SolidWorks Corporation recently debuted the SolidWorks® Community Blog . It’s a typical blog with informal, free-flowing, and down-to-earth commentaries about the SolidWorks product line and what's happening in the SolidWorks Community. New group leaders in Texas

Changing of the guard in San Antonio, Dallas

Jim Lowery was elected (in a close race) by SASUG group members to succeed Lila Theis as president of SASUG this week.  Jim has been a member of SASUG since it's inception, and his company, ITM, regularly hosts SASUG meetings just north of San Antonio.  In Dallas, Christie Reed takes over for NTSUG and is planning a meeting for mid January.  Christie has been involved in SolidWorks user groups for several years, and is a regular volunteer and contributor at the Southern Region SolidWorks User Conference.  Congratulations Jim and Christie!! Los Angeles area gets two new user groups

The LA area hasn't been able to support a pro football team for a while, but it does have two new SolidWorks User Groups.  The Antelope Valley SolidWorks Expert Users (SAVEUS) are back after a long hiatus, and the Orange County area gets a new group starting later this year.  SAVEUS has scheduled their comeback meeting for November 11th, see the meeting calendar for details.  The LA/OC SolidWorks User Group is now being formed and is looking toward an early December first meeting.  Contact group leader Mike Puckett at mpuckett@laocswug.com if you are interested in learning more. Midwest Region SolidWorks User Conference

October 12th - 14th

The 2005 Midwest Region SolidWorks User Conference will be held October 12th - 14th, and the Racine Marriott Hotel in Racine, Wisconsin.  The final user-run conference of 2005 features 20+ exhibitors, more than 25 technical sessions, food and networking.  Highlights include special keynote speaker and number 1 CSWP John McEleney, and technical sessions by Mr. Tips and Tricks Phil Sluder of Triaxial Design and Analysis.  For more information, visit the conference website at www.impactengsol.com/whatsnew.cfm. 7th Annual SWUGN Summit at SolidWorks World

The 7th annual SWUGN Summit will bring together user group leaders, user group members, and users interested in learning more about SolidWorks User Groups.
